Coffee, Community, and No-Drop Km’s: Looking Back at the First Casa Social Spin
Big city run clubs have a brilliant energy about them, but we wanted to bring that exact same inclusive, vibrant community spirit right here to the North on two wheels.
Last month, we hosted our very first Casa Social Spin—and it was an absolute belter.
The Vision: A Parkrun on Two Wheels
The idea sparked from a chat with Adam Marsden, the creative eye behind all our photos and videos. Adam always wanted to launch a project that mirrored those major city clubs: a cool, inclusive ride where everyone leaves with top-tier photos ready for their feed.
Up North, cycling spaces like this don’t really exist. Casa has everything you need to bridge that gap—a safe, welcoming space to hang out, connect, and talk gear.
Our main rule? Zero competition.
We designed this as a strict “no-drop” ride starting and finishing right at the Casa Roastery. Think of it less like a race, and more like a parkrun on two wheels—with a massive emphasis on the coffee.
Fuelled by Caffeine and Pastries
A social ride is only as good as its fuel, and everyone turned out in full force to enjoy a serious spread:
- Enormous Pastries: Legendary, massive bakes from Moin Moin kept everyone moving.
- Silky Flat Whites & Batch Brews: Freshly poured by the Casa team.
- Espresso & Tonic Station: A proper collaboration with Baladin and Alivini that served up the ultimate refreshing post-ride kick.
The day was a massive success, filled with good chats, great roads, and even better company.
