This coffee is produced on the Kichoni farm, by Kilimanjaro Plantation Ltd. KPL allocates at least $17,000 annually to environmental, social, and educational needs. Additionally, they’ve planted over 10,000 indigenous shade trees and use a drip-line irrigation system, reducing water consumption by 60%.
The processing is still manual. All cherries are selectively hand-picked, fermented, and washed in grading channels to sort by density. The coffee is sun-dried on raised African drying tables to a moisture content of 10.5%. Suitable for all brewing methods
